Norway fielded a national team in flag football for the Nordic Championship and World Championship, both held during the summer of 2012.

AFC Show was fortunate enough to have two of the players on the 12-man roster; QB Pål Dannevig and WR/DB Simon Bruset. The two saw plenty of playing time as Norway took on the likes of Austria, Denmark, Kuwait, Korea, Sweden, Panama, Italy, Japan, Germany and France.

Despite the lack of experience in flag football -all the Norwegian players came from the padded version of the sport- Norway managed to grab the silver medals in the Nordic Championship, and ended 12th among the 16 teams participating in the World Championship.

Dannevig led the Norwegian team as the starting QB, and helped produce many of the points scored by the team. Bruset also saw plenty of playing time, contributing on both offense and defense.

The plan is for the Norwegian federation to use the current national team players to promote flag football in their own regions to help grow both flag football and -ultimately- tackle football.

Despite having a great experience, neither Dannevig nor Bruset plan to retire from tackle football, but rather use flag football as another vehicle for honing their considerable skills within the sport of football.

AFC Show congratulate them on their great effort, and also congratulate the rest of the Norwegian national team in flag football with a job well done!
