In windy conditions at ISS Stadium, AFC Show kicked the ball off to the Oslo Vikings to start the game. The Vikings started well, but the drive was stopped by the Show defense, and the Vikings punted. AFC Show's first drive lasted three plays; the third one being an 84-yard pass play from QB Pål Dannevig to TE Darryl Kennon that ended in the endzone after Kennon outsprinted the Vikings secondary and got through an attempted tackle by DB Jeppe Okholm near the goalline. The PAT by K Truls Johansen was good, and AFC Show was in the lead 7-0.

The Vikings responded with a long drive consisting of many plays, including a 4th down attempt that was successful. The drive ended in a 10-yard run up the middle by veteran RB Nicolay Aslaksen. The PAT was no good, and AFC Show was still in the lead although only by a single point. Show got the ball back and produced very little as the Vikings defense was determined to not allow any more points. After a three-and-out the Oslo team got the ball back.

Their next drive lasted a while into the 2nd quarter before they again scored, this time through a short pass from QB Derek Mann to WR Brandon Weekes. The PAT was good, and the Vikings was in the lead for the first time by a score of 13-6. Show got the ball back, but a fumble by Dannevig on the first play gave the Vikings the ball near the AFC goalline. A great defensive stand by the AFC Show led to a 4th down attempt that was batted down by DB Simon Bruset, and Show got the ball only to once again go three-and-out. The strong wind gave AFC Show trouble getting the ball out of their own half of the field, and the Vikings knew to capitalize, scoring for a third time on the day on a 25-yard run by Lorenzo Proctor on 4th down.

AFC Show had another fruitless drive before the Oslo Vikings got the ball back at midfield and scored immediately through a long pass from Mann to Weekes. The PAT was blocked, and DB Jorma Bailey was in excellent position to pick it up and return it for two points, but was subject to a holding by a Vikings player who then proceded to kick the ball away to make sure Bailey couldn't recover the loose ball. Both incidents were penalties, and both were penalties that could only result in a replay of the down. Gamesmanship? Sure. Sportsmanship? Not so much.
Regardless, the Oslo Vikings held a deserved 26-7 lead at halftime, and it was very clear that AFC Show was fighting an uphill battle.

The 2nd half started well for AFC Show, who after receiving the ball on the kickoff return handed it off to RB Simon Olsen on the first play. Olsen ran through the Vikings defense for a 30-yard gain, but was stopped by Jeppe Okholm before he could advance further towards the endzone. Show continued moving the ball a bit, but the drive stalled in the redzone and ended with a failed 4th down conversion as a pass from Dannevig to Simon Olsen was complete, but forward progress was well short of the needed yardage. The Vikings got the ball and drove half the field before their drive was stopped as well. AFC Show now had the ball, but on 3rd down a Dannevig pass was intercepted for the first time this season, as Jeppe Okholm caught the ball. Okholm promptly returned it all the way to the endzone, scoring another Vikings touchdown. The PAT was blocked by Jorma Bailey.

AFC Show got the ball again, and after no progress on 1st and 2nd down, they were nearly intercepted on 3rd down again before punting it away on 4th. Once more the wind didn't help as the punt was short, giving the Vikings a short field to work with. The Vikings wasted no time driving down the field. RB Proctor capped off the drive with a short run for a touchdown, and the Oslo team was in the lead 38-7, which would prove to be the score at full time as well.

The 4th quarter pretty much consisted of the same procedure as the game had previously seen: AFC failed to move the ball, while the Vikings moved it. The difference in the last quarter was that the Vikings didn't score, despite giving it some effort - even taking a timeout with 1 second left in the game for a final attempt. For AFC Show the 4th quarter was highlighted by an interception of a Derek Mann pass by DB Christian Andreassen.

"We started out the way we had planned, but that's both where it started and where it stopped today", AFC Show Head Coach Jarle Magnus Henriksen said, adding "There's no doubt we'll have to perform a heck of a lot better if we're to beat the Vikings in a potential playoff game. Right now we have to focus on improving from this and winning our next games so we're actually qualified for the playoffs".

AFC Show's next game is away in Bergen versus a playoff-contending Bergen Storm team, 2PM June 9th.

A week after a solid win against the Domers, AFC Show took on the reigning Norwegian champs Oslo Vikings in Stavanger. It started well for the team from Stavanger, but the Vikings soon proved why they're unbeaten in 2012.

In windy conditions, although better than the last home game, the spectators got to watch two teams eager to perform. One team even did.

Despite holding a slim 7-6 lead at the start of the 2nd quarter, Show could not produce anything else except for one decent drive at the start of the 2nd half, while the Vikings produced a 20-point 2nd quarter to lead 26-7 at halftime. Two TDs in the 2nd half sealed the deal as the Vikings, ranked 24th in Europe, could travel home to the capitol with another win to their name.

AFC Show did become the first team to score on the Vikings in the 2012 season, but a lone touchdown was never expected to be enough in this matchup. The lack of production on the offensive side and the Vikings ability to move the ball on their part, proved that there's plenty of work to be done if Show wants to challenge for the Norwegian title. That is exactly the kind of work Show plans to do in the upcoming weeks.
