Runningback Simon Bruset wins the 2011 AFC Show senior team MVP!

Runningback from Randaberg earns MVP
Simon Bruset became the 3rd winner of the MVP prize, receiving the prize at a team gathering on December 15th. Three years after first setting foot on the gridiron, Bruset is a major contributor to american football in the Stavanger region both as a player on the field and leader off the field.

Bruset started as a wide receiver on the 2009 squad, before moving to runningback in 2010, a move that benefited both Bruset and AFC Show. Simon Bruset has spent most of the past two seasons at the "3-back", which in Show's system means he lines up both in the backfield and as a slot receiver at times. In addition, Bruset has been important on kickoff coverage and as a returner. He has even seen time at DB, although sparingly in 2011 as AFC Show tries to limit all players to focusing on special teams and either offense or defense.

In 2011 Bruset led the team in both rushing, return yardage and touchdowns, and also contributed significantly as a receiver. He is known for a good combination of speed and elusiveness.

In addition to being a force on the field, Bruset has also contributed to AFC Show through his leadership on several projects off the field in the off-season.

We congratulate Simon with the 2011 MVP award! A highlight video that includes some Simon Bruset highlights can be found below:
