20101219: RB/LB-camp held at Bryne

During the first weekend of December, a positional camp for RBs and LBs was held at Bryne

The camp was organized by Norwegian Footballcamps, with AFC Show's Jorma Bailey and Kamran David Fatehi working as instructors during the camp, making sure all participants had ample opportunity to pick up something new.

Third camp, but first time in Bryne
The facility being used for the camp was Jærhallen, an indoor turf field owned by Bryne FK, located right next to Bryne Stadium. Bryne is a town (pop. around 10.000) approximately 30 minutes south of Stavanger. This camp marked the first time Jærhallen has been used for american football, and it proved to be a fine venue for our sport. In addition, Bryne FK welcomed us with open arms and made us feel at home.
This is the third time such a football camp has been held in the region, with the first time being an OL/DL-camp in Sandnes in 2001, and the second time being the combined RB-camp and OL/DL-camp held at Actionball in Sandnes in December 2009. Hopefully there will be more camps held in 2011.

Many participants from AFC Show
Of the approximately 20 participants, all but two came from AFC Show, proving that there are many AFC Show players eager to improve their skills. Everyone had a solid opportunity to get reps and feedback during the 6 hours of practice time during Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th of December. Coach Bailey worked with the runningbacks while Coach Fatehi gave instructions to the linebackers. Evaluation feedback from the participants indicates that it was a very useful experience for everyone involved! There was however one injury, and we hope that our starting linebacker Ole Petter Ølberg will be ready again sometime in January after breaking a bone in his foot early in the camp.
