Training Camp held in Stavanger, scrimmage cancelled as Danish top division team pull out just days before

First training camp of the 2012 preseason proves there's a lot of potential

The training camp was held at the ISS and Madla IL facilities in Stavanger, and was originally supposed to be a joint camp for both Norwegian 1st Division side AFC Show and Danish Nationalliga-team Amager Demons. Unfortunately the Demons pulled out Wednesday the 21st, just three days before the camp took place. This left the Show management scrambling to adjust the schedule for the camp as well as several financial commitments that had to be altered to reflect the change.

- Although I understand how a team can end up in such a situation, I am disappointed with regards to getting info about the cancellation of the trip for the Amager Demons at such a short notice before the camp, said AFC Show head coach Jarle Magnus Henriksen in a comment.
- Thanks to the great attitude of the 2012 team this did not steal focus away from the camp itself, and in my opinion we're on the right track if we keep progressing in a steady pace throughout the rest of the preseason.

Despite this rather rocky start, Show adjusted and had a solid two-day camp.

The major difference between the 2011 and 2012 versions of Show was apparent from the very first practice, as the import players (LB/RB Robert Schaper-Kotter, OL/DL Jake Dembow, LB/DL/TE Darryl Kennon and OL/DL Cody McDermott) made their presence known through good efforts and knowledgeable tips for their new teammates. Other newcomers, such as DB/RB Jorma Bailey, also made sure to make the most out of the opportunity.
Many returning players, such as OL Henning Andersen and LB Eric Baden, joined rookies like RB Vegard B. Sætre and veterans returning from past years -like TE Aleksander Pettersen and RB Sivert Duvsete- to form a solid group of players trying to make AFC Show a contender in this year's 1st Division.

Installation sessions Saturday morning were followed by pass skelly and a full scrimmage later in the day Saturday, followed by a review practice early Sunday and film sessions at Balanz Fitness Center that concluded the camp in the afternoon Sunday the 25th.

Video interviews with some of the key players that were recorded during the camp will be posted on the website in the coming days - stay tuned!
