As we turn from 2010 to 2011, the AFC Show present our coaching staff for the upcoming senior season.














The staff consisted of four coaches in 2010. All of them return, and are joined by three additional coaches. In this article you'll find a presentation of all the AFC Show senior team coaches.

Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator: Jarle Magnus Henriksen (33)
Coach Henriksen has been involved in the Norwegian football scene since 1989, and has been coaching football since 1997. He started out as a head coach for the Sandnes Oilers U-19 team that was Norwegian champ'ship runners-up in 1997, followed by a Norwegian championship with the same team in 1998. The '98 team was undefeated, scoring 136 points and allowing 0 in 8 games. In 1998 Coach Henriksen was also the offensive coordinator for the Oilers' senior team.

In 1999 he moved on to the Oslo Vikings as an assistant coach on the senior team and head coach of the Vikings U-19 team in '99, followed by another stint as an assistant for the Vikings' senior team that won the Norwegian champ'ship in 2000. In 
2001 Coach Henriksen returned to the Oilers as a head coach for their senior team, a position he held in 2001 and 2002.

After a 4 year hiatus, Henriksen returned to football as the offensive coordinator for the Norwegian U-19 national team in 2007. This was not Coach Henriksen's first time with the national team, as he was an assistant on the Norway U-19 national team in 1998, before being the head coach in 1999 and 2000. He was also the interim head coach for the Norwegian senior national team in the 2002 Nordic Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. Henriksen was the U-19 national team offensive coordinator in 2007, 2008 and 2009, as well as holding the same position with the U-16 national team in 2008. He was also an assistant coach on the Norwegian national senior team in 2007. In late 2008 Henriksen became the head coach of the AFC Show, and returns for his 3rd season in this position in 2011.
Coach Henriksen resides in Stavanger with his fiancee and young son.


Defensive Coordinator: Kamran David Fatehi (31)
Coach Fatehi returns for his 2nd season with the AFC Show. A former standout player for several solid Swedish teams as well as spending some time on the practice field with Texas Tech (NCAA Div.I-A), his focus on fundamentals and attention to detail rubs off on our players and improved the play of our defense in Coach Fatehi's first season with AFC Show. Coach Fatehi has also been an instructor at positional camps the past two years.
Coach Fatehi lives in Sandnes with his fiancee.


Special Teams Coordinator: Thomas Zaubi (40)
Coach Zaubi is new to the AFC Show before this upcoming season. The Houston, Texas native has grown up with football and played the sport through high school in addition to amateur football as an adult. This will be Coach Zaubi's first coaching position. What he lacks in experience he makes up for with unmatched enthusiasm. He is a high energy individual that demands the very best from his players. Coach Zaubi will certainly be heard on the practice field, and will help our special teams achieve a better performance. In addition Coach Zaubi will be responsible for working with rookies that join the team during the season, bringing them up to speed by using his solid knowledge of the game to teach them the basics of the sport.
Coach Zaubi lives in Stavanger, where he also runs and is the CMO of a successful company.


Offensive Line Coach: Geir Svendsrud (43)
Coach Svendsrud enters his 3rd season with the AFC Show, and 3rd as our offensive line coach. His passion for football and the entire Show family is an important asset for the team. Coach Svendsrud is a former Sandnes Oilers' player who spends a considerable amount of time learning the game of football, and teaching it to his positional group, making sure they're well-prepared for each and every gameday.
Coach Svendsrud and his fiancee reside in Stavanger.


Receivers Coach: Lars Gärtner (49)
Coach Gärtner played two seasons in Germany many years ago, before joining the AFC Show as an assistant in 2010. This will be his second season coaching for us, and his second as our receivers coach.
A native of Germany, Coach Gärtner and his wife resides in Sandnes with their two children, Clara and Benedict. Benedict is also part of AFC Show, playing receiver for both our U-19 and senior teams.


Defensive Backs Coach: Jorma Bailey (30)
Coach Bailey played high school football at East Lake HS in Tampa, Florida. He had 1.600 yards rushing in his senior season, when he started at both offense (RB) and defense (FS). He also started his freshman season as a RB, and sophomore season as a FS. Coach Bailey played Linebacker at the University of Tulsa (NCAA Div. I-A), as well as being a returner and playing some RB. He also spent some time on the practice field with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL. In addition to success on the football field, Coach Bailey was the Florida state champion in the high jump, and has coached track & field. Coach Bailey will also see the playing field as a DB in addition to playing special teams and some offense. His leadership and vast football knowledge will help the entire team improve in 2011.
Coach Bailey, his wife and young son reside in Stavanger.


Strength&Conditioning Coach: Jarle Vangsnes (31)
Coach Vangsnes brings his tremendous knowledge of strength training to the Show in the position as Strength & Conditioning coach, which he has held since the fall of 2010. An assistant coach on the Norwegian national powerlifting team, Coach Vangsnes also plays on the defensive line for the AFC Show, and 2011 will be his 3rd season in football.
A full-time fitness trainer, Coach Vangsnes and his girlfriend live in Sandnes.
